The Rose

"A Single Rose"
A single Rose, is all I saw
As you stood there at the door
You, so good looking and so tall
I couldn't have loved you more
When you handed the Rose, to me
There was such a gleam in your eyes
We knew our love was meant to be
It didn't come as any surprise
This single Rose, a symbol of love
That two people share together
We felt it was, arranged from above
A love that nothing could sever
Through thick and thin, years passed
by Our love, never did waver
I reminisce, wiping a tear from my eye
So many memories to treasure, and savor
So today, as I hold this flower
And Place it tenderly, at your grave
I thank you . . . for all of your love
And . . . A single Rose, that you gave
